How to Help Your Immune System this winter?

Studies have indicated that Adjustments not only consistently reduce the production of substances controlling inflammation associated with tissue damage and pain, but  may also enhance the production of immune system regulating complexes important for healthy immune system defense! As far back as the flu pandemic of 1917 (-1918), Chiropractors noticed that their patients seemed to have fewer fatalities than among the general population and published their work in an Osteopathic journal (other scholarly journals were not accepting chiropractic data at that time). The estimated death rate among patients of conventional medical care in the U.S. was reported at 5 to 6 percent, while the fatality rate among influenza cases receiving spinal adjustments was estimated at LESS than 1% – at just 0.25%!

Despite knowing this, like you, I’m a busy person too, and sometimes, if I “feel OK” I’m tempted to let my regular visits slide. However, our backs are often subluxated, restricted or unstable, and affecting our nervous systems for months or YEARS before it presents as a problem that “makes” us want to visit our Chiropractor’s office. The absence of pain is NOT health, and even discounting the terrible effects of subluxation on the nervous system (“noise” from subluxated joints blocking the conduction of life-enhancing signals through our spinal cords),  muscle, ligament and joint injuries ALONE commonly occur as a result of LONG-TERM bio-mechanical dysfunction, allowed to “sit there” because they “didn’t hurt.”
